Project Space was packed for Mags BC's first Remix event, held Tuesday, April 24. It's no surprise the night drew such a crowd: the topic, Blogging to Build Your Brand, was hot, and the panelists--four digital publishing pros--had plenty to say on the subject.
Johannie Marcoux moderated the panel, which consisted of Lisa Manfield, digital editor of BCLiving and educator; Rebecca Bollwitt, creator of Miss 604; Tara Schmidt, Business Development Manager for Vancouver Magazine and Western Living magazine; and Remy Scalza, award-winning journalist and blogger for Inside Vancouver.
The group discussed the challenges of keeping a consistent voice, the value of SEO and analytics, and the importance of quality content. Great questions from the audience followed, sparking discussions on the value of newer social media sites like Pintrest. Afterwards, guests and panelists mingled over snacks and beverages.
We'll have a full video of the event online soon, for those who weren't able to make it, so please stay tuned to the Mags BC website! And dont' forget to keep your eyes peeled for info about the next Mags BC Remix event, on multi-platform publishing!
