MagsBC Volunteer of the Year 2011 Award

 

The 2011 MABC Volunteer of the Year Award, which recognizes an individual who has demonstrated years of volunteer involvement in the magazine industry is presented to Jenn Farrell.


Jenn Farrell is a freelance writer and editor, the former managing editor of subTerrain magazine, and currently the board vice-president for the Magazine Association of BC. Her stories have appeared in subTerrain, Prism, West Coast Line, and Event magazines, and she is the author of two collections of short fiction: The Devil You Know (Anvil Press, 2010), and Sugar Bush & Other Stories (Anvil, 2006).

Jenn Farrell has contributed countless hours of volunteer work to the Magazine Association of BC and the magazine industry as a whole. She has assisted editors/publishers with grant writing applications, served as a member of the MagsBC Board of Directors, volunteered at professional development events, and recently took on the role of Task Force Chair for MagsBC.
